The Low-Energy Electronic Systems (LEES) Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART) seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to complement a growing team focusing on integration of III-V materials on silicon. He/she will be expected to participate as an individual contributor on a team designing, synthesizing and characterizing new light emitting diodes based on III-V materials, test their structural and device characteristics. In addition to research activities, the Postdoctoral Associate is expected to take an active role in mentoring junior researchers in the laboratory, proposal writing, and reporting for the team.

Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have a PhD degree in related areas (physics, materials science, electrical engineering, nanotechnology or similar) and have the following research experience:
- Experience in (scanning) transmission electron microscopy (STEM) characterization of materials, including defect and chemical analysis
- Desirable, but not required, is familiarity with aberration-corrected STEM including annular bright and dark field imaging and electron energy loss spectroscopy;
- Published research in peer-reviewed journals related to above mentioned research areas.

The most qualified candidates will also have the following demonstrated experience:
- Writing scientific reports;
- Ability to work independently and as a team;
- Experience working with researchers of diverse backgrounds across multiple time zones.
