Job Details
You will work on a project investigating a dietary supplement as a potential new treatment for mania in bipolar disorder. You will investigate the potential clinical applications of a new family of compounds that are more potent than Valproic acid (VPA) by assessing their potency as mood stabilizers in comparison with VPA in Myshkin mice, a model of bipolar disorder.
You will be educated to a degree level in a relevant subject, such as neuroscience or pharmacology, or have a BTEC higher level, or equivalent, or equivalent experience. You will have experience of handling laboratory rodents and you should be holder, or a recent holder of, a Home Officer personal licence. As the study will involve a mouse model of mania you will also need experience of rodent behavioural testing.
