Salary:  £29,301 to £36,001 per annum

Full Time (Part time working will be considered) - Fixed Term (2 Years)

The Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (MSRG - http://www.southampton.ac.uk/msrg), Faculty of Health Sciences, is seeking a Data Manager. You will take responsibility for the development and adaptation of appropriate systems for data capture, validation and analysis activities within the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group’s portfolio of research studies.

In particular, with the support of the senior team, you will take responsibility for database building and management, overseeing data entry, and organising and overseeing data monitoring, validation and cleaning. 

Working with Professor Claire Foster, Director of MSRG, you will be responsible for all MSRG data management activities including data security, data review and query generation, to deliver fit for purpose data sets and statistics for analysis.

You will have the following skills and experience to enable you to perform this role:

  • Excellent project management, planning and organising skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team
  • Experience of patient reported and medical data, data entry and validation techniques
  • Knowledge and experience of medical research methodology and statutory clinical trial regulations, GCP and research governance requirements
  • Ability to plan and coordinate a complex workload and meet the challenges of competing priorities
  • Knowledge and experience of data collection and database design and implementation. 

You will have a skill level equivalent to a degree or equivalent professional qualification.

This role is offered full time for 2 years in the first instance. A standard level Disclosure and Baring Service check is required for this role.
