Business Transformation Office (BTO)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Transformation Architect to join our newly created Business Transformation Office (BTO). We are looking for candidates who will shape this new role, applying your extensive knowledge of leading and thinking, including development of the digital process.  We employ over 5400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students making us one of NZ’s largest and leading tertiary employers.

The Business Transformation Office is part of the Organisational Performance and Improvement (OPI) Service Division which is responsible for the effective delivery and transition of strategic transformation projects, portfolio management and delivery of staff services. BTO acts as a centre of expertise to provide services, tools and expertise to support the University to build and extend the ways in which the services and processes are designed, enabling continuous improvement and innovation.

In this newly created position reporting to the Manager BTO, you will be responsible for supporting the operationalisation of strategy and promoting innovation through the design of services and elements of business architecture. Through this you will provide advice and solution designs that will enable process and services to meet performance goals, improve and innovate.  Working closely with senior stakeholders you will play a key role in shaping and fostering continuous improvement, business transformation and innovation initiatives.

Candidates with demonstrated experience in providing high level analysis and design of solutions within a large and complex organisation, combined with providing specialist architectural and strategic advice, will be strongly considered.  It is essential that you understand key concepts that support business transformation and related architecture, and preference will be given to candidates that can provide leading edge advice and support relating to transformation architecture.  The role provides a high level of visibility across faculties and service divisions, reporting and presenting to a discerning group of stakeholders.

Exceptional relationship, leadership and operational management skills, combined with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders are essential for this position.  Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in a business related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant senior role, in either a corporate or multifaceted environment.  You will be well versed in the provision of high level specialist architectural and strategic advice for projects and programs on issues including feasibility and strategic alignment.

With highly developed written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build relationships at all levels across the organisation, you will be seen as a credible and influential Manager and a thought leader in the field of Business Process Management. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible and sustainable difference.

The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students in a safe, inclusive and equitable environment.  For further information on services for Māori, Pacific, women, LGBTI, equity groups, parenting support and flexible work go to www.equity.auckland.ac.nz.
