Are you a proactive and efficient Coordinator with a focus on stakeholder service?

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and customer service skills to work as a team member of Te Pūnaha Matatini, a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence for Complex Systems and Networks, hosted by the University of Auckland in partnership with Massey University, Victoria University of Wellington, Motu Economic and Public Policy Research, and the University of Canterbury.

As Research Operations Coordinator/Administrator you will provide operational coordination, administration, and event management support for the Centre, as assigned by the Executive Manager, including coordination and executive support to the Directors, Executive Manager, researchers, and students.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will:

  • Have good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently by prioritising tasks, working to deadlines, and maintaining performance under pressure
  • Have the flexibility to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations
  • Have the ability to give close attention to detail and take responsibility for completing tasks
  • Demonstrate evidence of self-motivation, resourcefulness, and resilience
  • Seek opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of support services to Te Pūnaha Matatini
  • Enjoy a varied work day, providing reception duties, making travel arrangements, coordinating events, and a variety of other coordination and administrative tasks
  • Undertake specialist responsibilities where determined by the Executive Manager

You must have experience in a related position in a large complex organisation, preferably in the public or higher education sectors; have excellent computer skills, and be able to multi-task and work independently.

You will have a tertiary qualification or relevant experience, the ability to build relationships and communicate confidently with key stakeholders, and be enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and distributed team.
