Job Details

Academic Services – The Graduation Office (Fixed term/Secondment opportunity)

This is a full time professional staff level 3 position.

We are looking to cover a staff member who has left on secondment. This vacancy will be until the end of 2017 and would ideally suit either a staff member within the University looking for a secondment opportunity or someone who is looking for a fixed-term position.

Graduation is the culmination of any student’s academic career at University and a time of celebration for family and friends. At the University of Auckland we graduate around 10,000 students every year – most choose to come to our ceremonies, while others graduate in absentia. We have major events held in May, September and November of each year. With a smaller graduation in Whangarei in February and Honorary Degree ceremonies held throughout the year.

If you would like to be part of this small but dynamic team, please review the job description. The best person for our office will be a team player who enjoys the fast pace of participating at a public event. You will need to be able to use your initiative to fill in the quiet times but also think on your feet when you’re at an event and have to answer a variety of questions.

A good knowledge of systems such as Oracle Service Cloud and PeopleSoft is an advantage but we’re happy to train you. You will also need top-level administrative skills and a record of excellent customer service.

You will need to have the right to work in NZ.

Interested? Please apply using the University’s general application system – and make sure you have read the job description and provide a covering letter telling us why you’re the best person for the job.

Applications close: Monday 27 February 2017.
