Job Details
The North-West University(NWU) is recognised as one of the best-managed and most innovative universities in South Africa and seeks to be a pre-eminent University in Africa, driven by the pursuit of knowledge and innovation. The NWU has campuses in Mafikeng, Potchefstroom and the Vaal Triangle. The head office, known as the Institutional Office, is in Potchefstroom.
The Potchefstroom Campus of the NWU currently has the following vacancy available :
POSITION: Administrative Assistant (1 year Fixed term, Half day position)
SCHOOL: HART (Hypertension in Africa Research Team)
FACULTY: Health Sciences
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12
-
One year experience as health care worker
-
HCT (HIV counselling and testing) certificate
Other competency requirements
-
Basic knowledge of HIV and experience of interacting with people living with HIV
-
Good sense of direction and familiar with Potchefstroom clinics and surrounding areas
-
The ability to handle information and affairs confidentially
-
Willing to work flexible hours and walk to participants houses if necessary
-
Computer profiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as email and internet
-
Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
Recommendations
-
6 to 12 months experience in engagement with people living with HIV
Job Specification
Responsibilities:
-
Assist with the recruitment of eligible participants by clinic visits, care group visits, home visits and telephone follow-up for EndoAfrica project.

Involvement with the data collection (e.g. explanation of questionnaire questions if necessary) procedures within the EndoAfrica research project
-
Ensure that participants are at collecting points on days of data collection
-
Visit the homes of participants to keep contact and arrange follow-up data collection
TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: Market related
