Job Details

Part-time – 60% of full time basis

A Tutor in Midwifery is required to join the School of Healthcare, contributing to our teaching portfolio and working primarily with the BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme across their 3 year educational programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach a range of subjects, which, although not exclusively, will focus upon teaching clinical skills and the theory, policy and practice underpinning the midwife’s role.  You will contribute towards the quality assurance of clinical educational settings and assessments and your tutor duties will therefore concentrate on delivering high quality education for pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery students.

You will hold a Masters’ degree in Midwifery (or another relevant subject) and will have current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC) Professional Register.  You will also have experience of formal or informal teaching of students and/or professional groups in midwifery or healthcare.

Informal enquiries and informal visits are positively welcomed.

The University of Leeds is committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offers a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN and holds the Bronze award. The School of Healthcare holds the Bronze award.  We are committed to being an inclusive school that values all staff, and we are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees.

Informal enquiries regarding the post should be directed to Dr Janet Hirst, Academic Unit Director, tel. + 44 (0) 113 343 1281 or email; j.hirst@leeds.ac.uk or Dr Kuldip Bharj, Lead Midwife for Education, tel. +44 (0) 113 343 1235 or email: K.K.Bharj@leeds.ac.uk
