Job Details

The Wits School of Education is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer on the staff of the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Division. The Division is committed to equity and excellence, encourages diverse theoretical and methodological orientations, values collaborative research and encourages academic staff to work across divisions and specializations.  The Division prefers candidates who have expertise in education policy, quantitative methods, and the economics of education, the capacity to secure external funding; and the potential to develop collaborative relationships with colleagues in the university, provincial and national departments, research institutes and policy networks.

Qualifications and experience:

The successful applicants must meet the following criteria to be appointed:

• Lecturer
PhD in an appropriate field
Capacity to supervise at the tertiary level
Evidence of an emerging research profile (a publication record would be an advantage)
A track record of competent teaching in the disciplinary area in higher education

• Senior Lecturer
­ PhD in an appropriate field
­ An independent research profile and proven publication record
­ Capacity to teach and supervise at the tertiary level, preferably must have a sustained record of research supervision
­ A track record of competent teaching in the disciplinary area at school and/or in higher education

Remuneration: dependent on qualifications and experience
