Faculty of Medicine – Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Montreal Neurological Institute

Position description
The Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the field of neuro-immunology and multiple sclerosis.

The MNI is integrated with the Montreal Neurological Hospital, with clinics specialized in neurology and neurosurgery, including a large multiple sclerosis clinic engaged in clinical trials and research. This provides a unique environment for studying fundamental and applied neuroscience.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct vigorous cutting-edge, externally funded independent research augmenting our existing efforts in the field of neuro-immunology and multiple sclerosis. The candidate is also expected to supervise graduate students and to contribute to teaching related to McGill’s academic mission. The successful candidate will also lead the Neuroimmunological Diseases Group at the MNI.
Qualifications and Education requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will be an MD and/or PhD in neuroscience or related field, with an international stature and a track record of successful research and leadership in neuro-immunology and/or multiple sclerosis. Clinician-scientists are especially encouraged to apply.
