Job Details

Are you passionate about making a difference and improving access to higher education?  Can you engage with education and IAG professionals and develop resources to help them support young people?

Go Higher West Yorkshire is a consortium of 12 Higher Education Providers in West Yorkshire.  As a confident and responsible individual you will support the success of our HEFCE-funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).

NCOP seeks to identify and address issues around progression to higher education for young people living in areas where progression is low overall, and particularly low when GCSE attainment is taken into account.  You will ensure the project’s targets for improved access into higher education are met, by coordinating, arranging and managing events and activities to raise attainment and aspirations, and – most importantly – support the application and transition of pupils into Higher Education.  You will have a particular focus on designing, developing and delivering resources and activity for education and IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) professionals in our project’s partner schools/academies/colleges in Bradford and Calderdale, as well supporting activity with young people and their parents/carers/ guardians.

You will help ensure the effective involvement of key stakeholders in the project and work within the wider team to set, progress and meet Programme targets and objectives.  You will bring your knowledge and experience of working with education professionals and young people in schools/ academies/colleges, and of higher education, to develop innovative and effective activity to help meet project targets.  The post will be based in the Go Higher West Yorkshire team, located on the University of Leeds campus, but you will need to be able to work on a flexible basis, including travel to alternative locations and some evening/weekend work.
