UQ Advancement 

Throughout its history, The University of Queensland has benefited from the support of its alumni and friends to enhance funding, to deliver world-class research and allow students to reach their full potential. The St Lucia campus rests on land gifted through the Mayne siblings and the School of Veterinary Science continues to use farmland at Pinjarra Hills, donated to the University in the early 1920s.  The modern research-intensive University is supported by a partnership of significant philanthropy and leveraged grants from the government.

UQ Advancement, the hub of university Advancement, is comprised of three portfolios – Development and Philanthropy; Alumni and Community Relations; and Advancement Services.  The Development and Philanthropy portfolio leads philanthropic fundraising efforts across The University of Queensland. The team leads and coordinates the University's fundraising activities and programs with respect to principal and major gifts from individuals and organisations, bequests and planned giving, leadership annual giving, and the University's major fundraising campaigns.

The role

The Advancement Manager will develop and execute strategies and programs to source and actively secure gifts, donations and other philanthropic funding to the University of Queensland. The position-holder will manage a portfolio of leadership annual giving and major gift prospects and donors. As part of a strong stewardship program, Advancement Manager, will also contribute to the recognition and stewardship of donors to UQ in collaboration with Advancement colleagues.

The person

Applicants should possess experience in a fundraising environment. You should also have a working understanding of the principals of philanthropy and fundraising in Australia, with proven experience in developing and implementing fundraising plans and programs.  Your strong communication skills and superior interpersonal skills will be used to ensure quality outcomes for UQ.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 - $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $108,589 - $121,930 p.a.).
