Pharmacist

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacies including:

• review and process of physician orders for accurate therapeutic dose;
• monitoring lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interaction, duplication of same class etc;
• ensuring timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients;
• ensuring the accuracy of the label before dispensing;
• accurate and timely completion of expiry drug list;
• assisting in patient counseling for outpatient prescription and maintenance of cash;
• preparation of cytotoxic drug, TPN solution, IVPB mixtures etc;
• preparation of sterile injection, bulk compounding and monitoring of chemo critical list.

Requirements

• Doctorate of Pharmacy from a recognized University;
• One year traineeship in a medium / large hospital OR preferably 1 - 2 year's experience as a Pharmacist;
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning;
• Sound knowledge of Physiology, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical;
• Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceutical and their indications;
• Ability to communicate with medical professionals.
