School of Chemical Sciences
Expressions of Interest are sought for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland. The University of Auckland in New Zealand’s highest-ranked research university in international surveys. The School of Chemical Sciences is the largest chemistry-related department in New Zealand, and has programmes in Food Science, Forensic Science, Wine Science and Medicinal Chemistry, with a developing expertise in Green Chemical Science.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to conduct research in the broad applied analytical chemistry field and will be expected to engage with the Forensic Science programme which is run jointly by the University and ESR Ltd. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to teaching in forensic science and analytical chemistry.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong analytical chemistry or forensic science background. The Forensic Science programme has research interests in multi-element analyses, fingermark enhancement and characterisation and decontamination of clandestine methamphetamine laboratories. Applicants may have research interests in these or complementary fields.
Minimum requirements
- A PhD in Chemistry or Forensic Science or a related field.
- Proven evidence of research ability as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills

The position is available for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for three years.
