Faculty of Business & Economics

Applications are invited for a continuation path position as a Professional Teaching Fellow in the Department of Management and International Business (MIB).

The Department delivers three majors in the BCom degree – in Management, International Business and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. It offers BCom (Hons) and Masters programmes, and is the home of a large PhD cohort.

At Stage 1, MIB is responsible for two large compulsory courses – Business 101 and 102, which are delivered in a team-based learning model. These courses are co-taught with the Department of Marketing. The delivery and ongoing development of these courses is the primary focus of these positions. Teaching in other courses may be assigned as required.

Applicants will ideally have a PhD in a relevant discipline, a track-record of excellent teaching evaluations in large undergraduate courses, knowledge of flipped classroom and team-based methods of course design and delivery, and online education and learning management systems (especially Canvas). The ideal candidate will demonstrate both the skills for the job and a real enthusiasm for teaching.

Applications should include a CV and teaching portfolio, including course evaluations.

Salary range is from PTF1 - PTF 4 depending on qualifications and experience.

The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students in a safe, inclusive and equitable environment.  For further information on services for Māori, Pacific, women, LGBTI, equity groups, parenting support and flexible work go to www.equity.auckland.ac.nz.
