The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences is a vibrant, multidisciplinary School with extensive teaching and research programs covering the fields of Geology, Geography, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety Sciences and Planning.

The role

The candidate will investigate application of novel methodologies to model ecological systems with limited information and approaches to informing management of such systems with a particular focus on reintroductions. Duties will include; building ecological models of ecosystems, assessing risk of reintroductions to ecosystems and assessing system level monitoring and management alternatives. Candidates will also be expected to conduct research and publish in high quality journals, and contribute to training, scientific mentoring and supervision of students.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in maths, ecological modelling or a closely related discipline. You should also have research experiences in quantitative modelling and a good track record of publications in this field, and developing research proposals in this area.  Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with various colleagues and stakeholders.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.80 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408.58 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
