A full-time permanent faculty position as an Academic Clinician in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto is available effective July 1, 2017.

The Division provides tertiary and quaternary care for children with rheumatic diseases and has established a tradition of excellence in clinical care, education and research.  Subspecialty clinics for children with dermatomyositis, morphea, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, auto inflammatory diseases and systemic lupus erythematosus are well established. The Fellowship Training Program is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Independent and collaborative clinical and basic science research is performed by Division members. The position is intended for an individual whose major role will be to provide excellent clinical care for patients with rheumatic diseases and contribute to the divisional and departmental education programs. There will be ample opportunities to contribute to the other academic activities of the division.

The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($210,000-230,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package and may be eligible for a one time signing bonus.   All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in Paediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
