Job Details
We seek applicants for a MRC-funded postdoctoral position to work in the lab of Marc Amoyel, where we use the fruit fly testis as a model to study stem cell competition.
The successful applicant will use live imaging to observe stem cells replacing each other in the niche, and take advantage of the genetic tools available in Drosophila to manipulate signalling pathways and cell cycle components to understand their role in controlling competitiveness among stem cells. We will also seek to perform FACS and RNAseq experiments on competitive stem cells to determine the transcriptional changes associated with competitiveness.
Applicants should have a PhD in cell/developmental biology or related area
For informal enquires please contact: Marc Amoyel, 01173311405, marc.amoyel@bristol.ac.uk
The closing date for applications is midnight Monday 3 April 2017
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
