Health and Safety Officer - Highways Service - Ongoing contract - Up to £15.45 per hour
Our client is a local authority based in the Greater Manchester area, is looking for a Health and Safety Officer. You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals, working together to drive forward the ambitions of this Local Authority. This is to develop and enhance service improvements across the Highways. Allowing you the opportunity to learn from experienced management colleagues, offering you guidance and support for you to develop in the organisation.
Requirements:
- A detailed knowledge of Health and Safety associated with carrying out Civil Engineering Construction on the Highway and in public places.
- A Chartered Health & Safety, or HNC/ HND in Civil Engineering and 5 years or more in a Highway Construction Safety discipline, or similar environment.
- A track record of successfully managing Health and Safety on Civil Engineering Construction Contracts.
- Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the service.
You will be working closely with the Highway Managers and departmental health and safety leads. Provide effective Health and Safety recommendations that will assist to support the highway Managers and their staff.
