Associate, Storytelling

Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is Pakistan’s first private Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education that offers qualifications in both English and Urdu. AKU-EB's primary purpose is to improve the quality of secondary education. It achieves this through working with teachers and principals, creation of teaching and learning materials that promote conceptual learning and critical thinking skills, assessment of students, and research to generate educational data and inform practices in schools across Pakistan.

The Examination Board was established by Aga Khan University in August 2003 in accordance with Ordinance CXIV of the Government of Pakistan to offer examination services for both Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC).

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to Assistant Director, Communications, Aga Khan University Examination Board, the Associate for Storytelling plays a critical role as part of a communications team in enhancing the profile and global visibility of the Aga Khan University Examination Board. 

Specific responsibilities include:

• identifying and developing stories (writing, photography, video and interviews) that reflects the vision and mission of the institution and demonstrate impact
• creating and manage organizational story bank
• creating and editing stories for website, e-newsletter, social media channels, proposals, reports, etc.
• writing blogs related to EB’s ongoing activities and educational impact.

Requirements

You must have:

• a Bachlor Degree; however Master will be preferred
• at least one year of experience as a writer and editor
• excellent writing and editing skills
• interviewing skills
• keen sense of stories that demonstrate impact and are newsworthy
• storyboard experience
• working knowledge of basic/intermediate-level equipment (DSLR camera, video, audio recorder, microphones)
• experience with online platforms
