This post presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR).   We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to use knowledge and expertise to initiate, develop and manage a portfolio of relationships to secure philanthropic income, primarily in the form of major gifts (£25,000+). This role is also responsible for the creation and implementation of a legacy fundraising programme and the delivery of engagement and income for this area.  With a proven track record in a donor-facing fundraising role, you are a confident, creative and capable communicator, skilled in all aspects of income generation and relationship management.

ODAR is responsible for the University’s external engagement and fundraising programmes. We provide leadership direction for all volunteering and philanthropic giving, raising income from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies to support the advancement of the University and its 10 year strategy. We launched our first fundraising campaign for a new Centre for Cancer Immunology in Spring 2015. The Centre will be the first of its kind in the UK and among an elite group world-wide. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career by being a part of our inspiring campaign and to enjoy working in a friendly and ambitious team.

Just over an hour outside London in a beautiful leafy location, the University of Southampton ranks among the UK’s top 15 research-intensive universities. Through education and research, innovation and enterprise, we unlock potential and provide opportunities that transform the lives of our students, our community, society and the economy.

We encourage informal discussions about the role so please contact Katherine de Retuerto, Associate Director of Development at K.A.deRetuerto@southampton.ac.uk.
