DEPARTMENTS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY, AND SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION

LECTURER (FIVE-YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT) (THREE POSTS)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbents will be responsible for:

  • The facilitation of learning in undergraduate and postgraduate modules, in both contact and distance education modules;

  • The development and co-ordination of programmes and modules;

  • The supervision of postgraduate students’ research;

  • Being involved in and managing funded research projects;

  • Being involved in proposal and report writing.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • MEd in Early Childhood Education, Educational Psychology, or Science, Mathematics and Technology Education;

  • Teaching experience in a relevant sector;

  • Intention to enrol for postgraduate studies by January 2018.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Proven administrative and organisational abilities;

  • Computer literacy and report writing skills.

 

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in programme and module development and co-ordination;

  • Experience in distance education service delivery;

  • Experience in service provision in diverse contexts;

  • Participation in funded research projects;

  • Publication record.

 

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
