Job Purpose

The School of Physics and Astronomy and Institute of Gravitational Wave Astronomy at the University of Birmingham invite applications for a faculty position in gravitational-wave instrumentation and experiments at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader level.

The successful candidate will carry out research in experimental physics with a focus on gravitational-wave instrumentation and experiments. Areas of particular strength of the Institute include experimental and theoretical physics with applications to future-generation detector design; data analysis for ground-based, space-borne and pulsar-timing observatories and theoretical physics.

Person Specification

Applications from top researchers in all experimental areas relevant for gravitational-wave astronomy, including quantum optics, interferometry, quantum measurement, metrology and instrumentation are encouraged.
