The School of Clinical Sciences has a vacancy for a Research Technician.

Based in the Diabetes and Metabolism Unit, Learning & Research Building at Southmead Hospital, you will join a research team undertaking a programme of studies into the causes, prediction and ultimate prevention of type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes and other autoimmune diseases.

You will be primarily involved in the measurement of autoantibodies used in prediction of disease for a number of international studies, and will assist with other ongoing projects in the immunology and genetics of type 1 diabetes. A BSc or equivalent with general laboratory experience are required, but full training in the necessary techniques will be given.
