 It is open a tender for the attribution of 1 Post-Doctoral Grant in the framework of GENIALG - GENetic diversity exploitation for Innovative macro-ALGal biorefinery, funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 727892, according to the following conditions:
1. Scientific area: Biochemistry/Chemistry
2. Admission requirements:
 - PhD in Biochemistry or Chemistry, or similar areas
- Experience in chemical analysis of seaweed or of marine organisms.
-Experience in mass spectrometry based approaches, GC-MS and LC-MS and MS/MS.
 - Excellent skills in English language (spoken and written), and experience in writing of scientific proposals and also the ability to write scientific publications.
 3. Work plan: The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing methods and procedures for the determination of seaweed biomass composition. Biochemical analysis will be done by implementing existing approaches and novel omic´s approaches including mass spectrometry and mass spectrometry coupled to chromatography techniques, such as GC-MS and LC-MS/MS. The candidate will also be responsible for project reporting and writing of scientific manuscripts, as well as support other activities of the project and of the laboratory, if requested.
4. Legislation and official rules:
The fellowship is in accordance with Law Nº. 40/2004, 18th August (Research Fellow Statute) and regulations for Advanced Training of Human Resources of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) I.P. — no. 234/2012, no. 326/2013 and no. 339/2015 (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt) and the Regulation of Scientific Research Grants from the University of Aveiro – Regulation n.º 341/2011, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, n.º 98, 20th Maio.
5. Work place: The work will be carried out at the Department of Chemistry, University of Aveiro, 3810-193 Aveiro, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Dr. Rosário Domingues.
6. Duration of the grant: Duration of six (6) months, under the regime of exclusive dedication, eventually renewable according to legal terms.
7. Monthly maintenance stipend: The monthly maintenance allowance is €1495 (one thousand four hundred ninety-five Euros, Tax-Free), in agreement with Annex III of the Regulation n.º 341/2011, published in em Diário da República, 2ª série, n.º 98, de 20 de Maio based on the grants directly attributed by FCT, I.P. within the country. 8. Selection methods: Ranking of the candidates will be performed by CV evaluation according to: - Working experience in the field (60%) - Publications (40%). An interview may be conducted to the top 3 candidates, if the jury finds it necessary. In this case, the interview will have a weight of 40% in the final classification,  working experience a weight of 40%, and publications a weight of 20%
9. Composition of the jury: Prof. Dr. Rosario Domingues (President of the jury), Prof. Dr. João Coutinho, Prof. Dr. Artur Silva.
10.Form of Advertising/notification of results The final results of the evaluation will be published through a list sorting the candidates according to their attributed mark, posted in a visible and public place in DQ-UA, and the candidate will be notified by e-mail. In case of disagreement, the candidates have a 10-working days term in which they can contest the decision, as provided for in the Código do Procedimento Administrativo in a preliminary hearing setting. The jury reserves the right to not assign the grant depending on the quality of the applications.
11.Deadline for application and presentation of applications: The competition is open from 21st  of March  until 3rd April 2017. The applications must be formalized, compulsorily, by sending the following documents:
