We are seeking applications for a part-time (0.4 FTE) tenurable Senior Lecturer/Lecturer to work in the Department of Psychological Medicine within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland.  The ideal candidate will hold a recognised postgraduate qualification (PhD) in psychology, health psychology, developmental psychology or a closely related field relevant to psychological medicine.  The salary is competitive.

Requisite experience:

  • Experience in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching would be advantageous. 
  • An ability to undertake research and publish the results is essential.
  • Teaching responsibilities are primarily in the undergraduate area taking responsibility for a large undergraduate introductory class but there will be opportunities for post-graduate teaching and supervision within the Department. 
  • The position also entails some University administrative duties. 

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary department consisting of psychiatrists, health psychologists, health practitioners teaching professional and communication skills and a medical ethicist.  The Department includes internationally recognised researchers working in a range of health settings and services.
