About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 460 staff from 44 countries.
 
Context and Mission
The Operations Department from BSC requires an IT Unix/Linux Security Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations inside the Network and security group.
 
Key Duties
Configure and change the local firewalls of the different UNIX/Linux servers of BSC
Administrate different digital certificates generated (personal and server)
Represent BSC as Security expert at National Events or European Projects
Implement security policies, protocols and procedures
Monitor, audit and solve security issues in all BSC IT Services
Develop internal projects related to IT Network and Security
Collaborate as Security engineer in any project that Operations Department is involved
Review and analyze daily system reports, and recommend ways to re-mediate perceived security-related concerns
Performs and conducts penetration tests and manual/automated code reviews
Configure the different switches and wireless of the different BSC LAN networks
