The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, a collaboration between Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics, seeks to hire a junior clinical investigator/physician in pediatric oncology, with interest and experience in solid tumors. All qualified applicants should be Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Hematologists-Oncologists. Qualified applicant would expect to be hired at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to provide significant clinical support to the section of solid tumors. There will be protected time for education and some clinical research.

 

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative Division with strengths in molecular target drug discovery, developmental therapeutics, pharmacogenomics, signal transduction, angiogenesis and targeted therapeutics. The Aflac Cancer Center is one of the largest programs in the country, seeing almost 400 new cancer cases per year. The cancer center has a well-developed clinical research office and a robust Phase I/II clinical trials infrastructure.  The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center is an integral part of the Emory research community and provides a supportive multidisciplinary environment for developing novel translational therapies for treatment of childhood cancer and other non-malignant hematologic disorders. The Aflac Cancer Center is affiliated with the Winship Cancer Center. Substantial resources will be available commensurate with rank and position.
