Job Details
Job Purpose
This post will play a lead role in delivering the Business Schools Online Learning Strategy. This will involve providing expert guidance and leadership on the design of pedagogically proven blended and online learning. The postholder will work with the School Learning Technologist to design and script high quality video and other digital material and activities, and to enable repurposing of this material between courses.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Educated to at least first degree level and have significant relevant experience.
- In depth understanding of instructional/learning design in the context of Higher Education
- High level of expertise in the use of video for education
- Understanding of complex IT systems and multimedia content creation
- Very strong inter-personal and communication skills, and ability to influence decision making of senior academic staff
- Demonstrable ability to work independently in a sometimes challenging environment
- Good understanding and experience of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
- Some understanding and experience of graphic and web design principles
- Extensive experience and skill in the use of the technology required for day- to-day administration and teaching and learning in higher education (for example, all mainstream web browsers, Microsoft Office, Skype, web seminar tools, tablets, smart phones, webcams, microphones)
- Ability to manage own time, and to schedule and prioritise tasks
- Experience of delivering small group and one-to-one training
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for a wide variety of situations
