Summary:

The Senior Director Global Service and Indirect Procurement will be leading Perkin Elmer’s global procurement activities for all indirect materials including transportation/logistics and Perkin Elmer service business. This role will be tasked with leading a global team of PerkinElmer employees to successfully create and execute an enhanced sourcing strategy and processes, to achieve improved cost while creating efficient procurement systems. In this capacity, s/he prioritizes projects and alignments with the expectations of the business. This individual will serve as the Procurement point, supporting the global procurement business partners with responsibility for global deal socialization and adoption, category advice, and best practice.

The role is part of the procurement management team and key contributor in the transformation of the organization towards world class. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safeguarding of a market-leading performance position at competitive costs for respective material fields, derived from business requirements and overarching procurement strategy – in order to generate an optimized contribution to business performance.
  • Strong ability to positively build partnerships with internal stakeholders to further Procurement goals and business needs
  • Initiate and expedite targeted cost reduction programs. Derive innovative material field strategies based on market intelligence and overall procurement strategy. Initiation, planning, execution and control of demand pooling.
  • Respond to and address supplier service and / or quality issues to mitigate negative impact on the company.
  • Implement material field specific benchmarking and best practice sharing with the continental/regional organizations, with external partner companies as well as with competitors to further improve procurement within the material field.
  • Select, manage, assess, develop and coach employees in the area of responsibility to ensure long-term corporate success with motivated staff. Define and monitor targets and KPIs for the respective commodity business field.
  • Act as the direct partner link to the management of the business units / corporate functions. Ensure active regular communication and information exchange with all interested parties.
