The School of Music
The School of Music enjoys a vibrant musical culture with a strong collaborative focus. It has a long-standing reputation for excellence in its chamber ensembles in residence, good relationships with contemporary composers, publication of world-class music research, excellence in teaching, and engagement with the music industry.
The role
The successful appointee will lead the recruitment and teaching of vocal students in the School at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including oversight of all aspects of the vocal program. They will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, Honours supervision, and further development of the School's aural studies and vocal conducting programs and others, as well as establish connections within and across disciplinary boundaries, undertake administrative and other activities within the School, and contribute to the School's engagement with communities in and beyond the University.
The person
Applicants should possess a doctorate (PhD or DMA) in the broad field of voice performance, conducting, and aural studies, with recent and relevant teaching experience. You should also have a national or international reputation as a performer, as evidenced by innovative performances, recordings, scholarly writing and publications and the receipt of funding or awards. Applicants are expected to have a strong commitment to the continuous improvement of the School's academic programs and to the development of a coherent, high-quality vocal program.
Remuneration
This is a full-time, continuing appointment at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,142 - $109,419 AUD p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 AUD p.a.).
