The Research Fellow position will address the application of ferroelectret based power supplies for the powering of wearable sensors based on previous and ongoing research carried out within the group. Flexible low temperature materials can be employed to harvest energy from human motion and this work will investigate the optimisation of multilayer microengineered ferroelectret materials that offer considerable performance advantages compared with commercial ferroelectret foams. This will explore combinations of technology to deliver integrated autonomous textile based wearable sensors that are invisible to the user.
The post will be held in the Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton.
