You will be responsible to monitor all inventories and fixed assets related activities including timely completion of all schedules that requires co-ordination with external auditors for physical count exercise at year end. You will also be responsible to review the quarterly and annual internal as well as external reporting related to fixed assets and inventory for financial statements. You will propose meaningful improvements in overall systems and policies of fixed assets and inventory section. 

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible to:

  • Ensure timely and correct updating and recording of purchase, disposal and transfer of Fixed Assets in PeopleSoft Asset Management System as well as General Ledger.
  • Check and verify all fixed assets and Inventory related general vouchers and schedules on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Review capital work in progress schedule for regular transfers from CWIP to fixed assets and follow up for outstanding matters.
  • Monitor all inventories and fixed assets related activities and ensure timely completion of all schedules including co-ordination with external auditors for timely completion of physical count exercise at year end.
  • Resolve outstanding matters relating to inventory/fixed assets with the various departments on need basis.
  • Evaluate the current controls in place and propose meaningful improvements in overall systems, controls and policies of Fixed Assets and Inventory section.
  • Review all the manual processes being undertaken by the department and automate those with the help of IT. 
  • Ensure timely completion of fixed assets physical verification and resolve the outstanding issues.
  • Check and ensure timely processing of assets write-off forms and also ensure their write -off from system.
  • Analyze and provide reasoning of movements of assets and inventory to management.
  • Perform any extra duties as and when required.


Requirements

  • CA / ACCA / or MBA in Finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in similar capacity.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Should have a good knowledge of overall financial systems; 
  • Should be able to multi-task;
  • Good business acumen with ability to relate matters.
  • Possess good interpersonal communication and report writing skills;
  • Proficiency in computers especially MS Office, particularly MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint tools is required;
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
