Location: Bristol, UK 

A Senior Research Associate/Research Associate position is available in the laboratories of Prof Mark Cannell and Prof Jules Hancox to examine the inter-relationship between calcium handling and ionic currents that shape the cardiac action potential in heart failure.

The long term goal of our Medical Research Council funded program is to develop a new approach to treating sudden cardiac death in heart failure via selective modulation of ionic currents with drugs and modified chaperone protein expression

The successful applicant will have a PhD, MD or equivalent and experience in cellular electrophysiological recording, cell culture and transfection techniques. Experience of cardiac electrophysiology and surgical techniques is also desirable. The position is funded for up to 3.5 years by the MRC.
