School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineering

The role

The successful appointees will be responsible for undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including course coordination and program development; research higher degree student supervision; research; and professional activities in the field of power and energy systems.  The School's strong commitment to power and energy systems research focuses on the field of power systems analysis and condition monitoring of plants.

The person

Applicants must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field and have a distinguished record of scholarship.  In addition, you need to have demonstrated expert knowledge in at least one or more of the areas:- renewable energy integration (solar and wind) to major grids; home energy management; micro grid and remote grid management; electrical equipment condition monitoring and life assessment; power systems protection; power systems control.  Ability to lead or work in cross-disciplinary teams and a high level of effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills is essential.

Remuneration

There are two full-time continuing appointments available at Academic Level B or Level C.  Appointment level will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.  The remuneration package will be in the range $92,143 - $109,419 per annum (Level B); and $112,874 - $130,151 per annum (Level C), plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 (Level B); $132,063 - $152,277 (Level C) per annum).
