Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Health Systems

Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences

The Section of Health Systems, based on the University of Auckland's Tamaki Campus, is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to contribute to the teaching and research in health systems and health services.

You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in topics related to financing and delivery of health services and social science methods, along with developing a research programme that aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health services and health systems.

It is expected that the person appointed will undertake service roles within the University.

Applicants will have a PhD in a discipline relevant to health care financing or health services research, as well as:

• Experience in teaching the topics relevant to the financing and organisation of healths systems
• A publication track record in research relevant to health systems or health services in leading relevant journals, at senior lecturer(SL) level
• Being accomplished in quantitative and / or qualitative research methods
• The ability to teach and mentor students
• The ability to develop course curricula
• The capacity to work positively in a multi disciplinary environment with a committment to collegiality

This is a full-time (40 hrs per week) permanent academic appointment.
