We are seeking to appoint a Chinese speaking and writing, talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to the post of Faculty Specialist Officer (International) in the Faculty of Business, Law and Art at the University of Southampton.

Working closely with the Faculty Associate Dean International, you will play a key role in helping to drive the Faculty’s internationalisation strategy. The Faculty of Business, Law & Art offers a stimulating, challenging and dynamic working environment, with over 300 academic and technical staff and more than 4500 students, including 2000 internationalisation students. Comprising the Business School, Law School and Winchester School of Art, the Faculty spans a wide range of disciplines including HR management, project management, marketing, finance, international law, corporate and commercial law, maritime law, graphic arts, fashion management, luxury brand management and global media management.

As part of the University’s on-going commitment to internationalisation, the post forms part of the Faculty International Unit. This exciting and crucial role is a great opportunity to use your knowledge, skills and experience of the international Higher Education market to advance the Faculty internalisation portfolio and international business. You will develop international partnerships, increase student recruitment across multinational markets, and lead and manage international activities.

Educated to degree level and fluent in Mandarin Chinese. You will have prior experience of supervising overseas partnerships, project management (preferably in delivering international Higher Education projects) and an excellent understanding of international recruitment markets and recruitment activity. You will be an effective team player with the ability to exercise initiative and innovative thinking and take a proactive approach in reviewing processes and practices. You must have the ability to balance a varied and extensive workload, a good understanding of digital and social media and be competent providing analysis and interpretation of market trends and potential. You will be a self-starter with lots of passion and sound commercial and business awareness. Focussed, with the ability to drive projects forward, you will have first class cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to operate successfully with multiple partners and stakeholders at all levels, including international educational institutions, educational agents, government sponsors, British Council and alumni. Resilient, and thriving in a fast-paced and hard-working environment, you will enjoy working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

These post requires extensive overseas travel with extended and irregular working hours, so a flexible and co-operative approach to working patterns is required.
