The Diagnostics Software Services team is seeking interns to join our team. These individuals will be part of a dynamic group of engineers responsible for documenting, deploying, validating, and supporting newborn screening software applications in North American and Latin American laboratories.
Our team provides software tools that manage our customers' laboratory work-flow and help enable the early detection of certain life-threatening genetic and metabolic disorders in newborn babies. If detected and treated soon enough, most babies will be able to live healthy, normal lives. To learn more about newborn screening please visit http://www.savebabies.org/.
The Intern position requires constant team interaction. In this position you will learn how to operate our software, use SOPs and templates to create and execute validation steps, and how to compile these steps into test plans. In addition, you will also learn how to produce training material and end-user manuals. By the end of the internship, you will gain an understanding of the science behind genetic screening.
Position Details
As an intern, we'll work with you on an appropriate training plan - whether your strengths lie with some of the tools (MS SQL, Windows, VB and C#) we use or you have a strong science background with an interest in computers, we'll find the best fit for you. What's most important is that you have an interest in the healthcare field as a career!
