Job Details
We are looking for highly motivated Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate to join our group investigating cellular and synaptic function within the hippocampal network. For recent publications see, for example: Martin et al. (2007) Nature; Isaac et al. (2009) Journal of Neuroscience; Buchanan et al. (2010) Neuron; Chamberlain et al. (2012) Nature Neuroscience; Tigaret et al. (2016) Nature Communications; Teles-Grillo Ruivo et al. (2017) Cell Reports. We are currently particularly interested in the role of acetylcholine in hippocampal function.
The project will involve the use of in vivo electrophysiology and optogenetics to study how acetylcholine release in the hippocampus modulates the hippocampal network and subsequent behaviour.
The successful candidates should have a PhD in a relevant discipline. Experience in in vivo single unit recording techniques and animal behaviour is highly desirable.
