UCL Vice-Provost (International)
Global Engagement Office
The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £42,304 – £49,904 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL is one of the world’s top universities ranking first in the UK for research strength in the 2014 research excellence framework. Based in the heart of London, it is a modern, outward-looking institution with over 38,000 students and partnerships in five continents.

This is an exciting time to be part of UCL’s Global Engagement Office (GEO). Under the leadership of the Vice Provost (International) Dr Dame Nicola Brewer, the Office is at the heart of delivering the University’s Global Engagement Strategy (GES). The GES sets out a vision for UCL with the GEO at its core to increase the University’s global impact, with demanding targets up until 2020.

There is now an opportunity to be part of a high-profile, experienced and dynamic team which will implement, deliver and inform this ambitious and distinctive strategy. The post of Senior Partnership Manager, East Asia has become vacant. The post holder will proactively and independently develop and manage the portfolio of existing and potential partnerships with academics across East Asia, predominantly China and HK. The post is based in London but there will be some overseas travel.

This role will appeal to someone with a strong interest in the internationalisation of higher education and who is ready to take on a challenging, rewarding post. The successful candidate will marshal a dedicated budget to play a major role in directing and advancing UCL’s strategy in the region. They will thrive on working in a fast-paced team in a rapidly changing external environment. To help achieve this, the role benefits from the GEO’s excellent administrative support.

A good first degree is required. This role requires an individual who has a broad knowledge of issues relating to the internationalisation of higher education and experience of building successful international partnerships. They will need to have experience of working independently and proactively to set up and managing complex projects. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, are essential.

Closing Date: 26 April 2017

Latest time for the submission of applications: 23:59.

Interview Date: 10 May 2017

We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within UCL at this level.
