The School of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in French or Francophone Media and Communication from 1 September 2017. Applications are accepted from scholars with expertise in any field of French or Francophone Media and Communication studies. The appointment will be made at Lecturer b level (Grade J)

The successful candidate will be an expert in the field of French or Francophone Media and Communication. In addition to delivering undergraduate teaching in this area to students across the School of Modern Languages and collaborating with existing staff in media studies to teach School and cross-departmental units on media and communication, s/he will be a member of the Department of French and will design and teach units for the Department and will relish working collaboratively on cross-Faculty initiatives in media and communication.

Grade: Lecturer B, Pathway 1, Grade J
Salary: Starting salary £36,001- £40,523 per annum

Timescale of appointment:

Long-listed candidates will be notified on or about 17th May 2017 and will be invited to submit for consideration two pieces of written/published work no later than 23rd May 2017.

Short-listed candidates will be notified on or about 1st June 2017 and invited to interview. They may be invited to give a presentation as part of the selection process.

Interview date: 23rd June 2017.
Anticipated start date: 1 September 2017
