Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (research-based) in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 201700458)
Applications are invited for appointments as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (research-based) (several posts) in the School of Nursing, to commence as soon as possible, initially on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Preference will be given to applicants who possess a primary nursing qualification which will enable registration with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong, hold a Ph.D. degree in Nursing or related disciplines and have a strong track record of high-quality impactful research as indicated by international publications and successful external grant applications. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to, and excellence in, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and have experience in the supervision of research postgraduate students. They should be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of nursing and health-care related courses offered by the Faculty. The appointees will be expected to develop significant independent research programmes with external research funding from competitive research schemes, be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and be active in research and educational innovations. For Associate Professors, applicants should achieve an international standing, a distinguished record of scholarship appropriate to these levels with demonstrated leadership and ability to work across different health science disciplines and significant experience in capacity building, supervising and mentoring early career researchers and research students. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
