Tenure-Track Professor in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 201700457)

Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor in the School of Nursing, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Registered Nurse qualification and be eligible for registration with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.  They should have a Ph.D. degree in Nursing or a related discipline and a distinguished and sustained record of high-quality impactful research, as indicated by publications and competitive grants.  They should also have achieved international recognition for scholarship and professional expertise.  In addition, applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to, and evidence of, excellence in teaching, curriculum development and supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  Preference will be given to those with demonstrated administrative leadership in universities or healthcare settings.  The appointee is expected to play a key role in leading the School in achieving the highest standard of quality in all aspects of its teaching and research programmes, fostering academic collaboration within and outside the Faculty/University, and pursuing new strategic directions for the further development of the School. 

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.   The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
