An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Support Adviser to join the Student Development and Engagement team within the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences at the University of Auckland.
You’ll work as part of a team to support student success through wellbeing, pastoral care and learning support.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide advice and support to students throughout their academic journey;
- Improve student participation, success and retention through working closely with the faculty and University support services;
- Create, implement and review support plans for students at academic risk;
- Ensure that requirements of the Code of Practice for Pastoral care of International students are monitored and met;
- Be an effective member of the student support and advisor team;
- Contribute to and organise student engagement events.
Key skills and experience required
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment is essential;
- You’ll also need a thorough understanding of the New Zealand tertiary education sector, and of equity issues in New Zealand;
- Experience working with tertiary students or academics is a definite advantage.

This is a 12 month fixed-term contract for a part-time role (0.5 FTE) at Professional Staff Salary Level 4, based at the Grafton Campus.
