PURCHASING OFFICER - Kampala Outreach Clinics

Reporting to the Manager, Kampala the incumbent will be required to purchase items for the Outreach Clinics Kampala at the best price possible in order to maintain an up to date and cost effective system of supply purchase.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage administrative, contractual and operational aspects of purchasing;
• Ensure that the right products are purchased at the best negotiated prices
• Maintain and regularly update purchasing records/data/files/reports
• Prepare and process purchase orders and hand over documents to team in time as per the MMD guidelines
• Maintain effective working relationships with supplies/vendors by timely follow-up on purchase orders and delivery
• Assist in the selection of the best suppliers/vendors and contractors
• Keep up to date and review MMD expectations in order to satisfy internal and external customers
• Prepare and file monthly activity reports and savings
• Carry out annual suppliers/vendors’ evaluation.

Requirements

 

• Bachelors’ degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a supervisory role in a purchasing and/or warehouse function;
• Valid member of The Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda – IPPU
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and negotiation skills;
• Good organization, communication and administrative skills;
• Excellent proficiency in computer packages;
• High sense of integrity
