Sport and Recreation - Campus Life

The Sport and Recreation team provide sporting and fitness services to students and staff allowing them to maintain a healthy lifestyle, participate in sporting competitions and socialise with friends whilst pursuing academic goals. The recreation facility is based at the city campus and includes a large fitness centre, sports hall, bouldering wall, dance studio, squash, physiotherapy and a wide range of programmes, events and sports. 

We are seeking a Customer Service Team Leader to replace a superstar who has been with us for nine years. You will be a specialist who can manage our customer service and administrative team.

This varied role involves human resources, financial administration and reporting, purchasing and sales, bookings management, as well as customer service and health and safety.  You will manage a team of both permanent and casual staff and oversee the central administrative functions for the sport and recreation facility including; fitness centre membership sales and administration, sport and programme registrations, facility bookings, product sales, cash handling and customer service.

The successful applicant will become part of a high performing, fun and energetic team, with a goal of getting more students to be active and involved in our programmes, facilities and sports on campus. This is a busy facility, filled with young, fun and motivated members and users. 

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • A tertiary qualification in one or more of the fields of business, sport or health, and experience working within a recreation facility, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills, administrative aptitude and the ability to multi-task effectively are essential.
  • Experience with financial, member and bookings management software is advantageous. 
  • Current first aid certification is a pre-requisite.
