Job Details
Job Purpose
To develop and deliver undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD urban planning and human geography programmes, as appropriate to the disciplinary area and to contribute to the management, leadership and enterprise activities of the department/school as appropriate.
Person Specification
• Normally, a higher Degree relevant to the discipline area (usually PhD) or equivalent qualifications.
• Research/teaching experience and scholarship within subject specialism (commensurate with career stage)
• Ability to devise, advise on and manage learning.
• Skills in managing, motivating & mentoring others successfully at all levels.
• Experience of or demonstrable commitment to research-led teaching
Teaching
• Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise high quality teaching programmes.
• Experience of (or potential for) development of appropriate approaches to learning and teaching and advising colleagues (commensurate with career stage)
• Evidence (or potential) for development of innovative teaching delivery methods
• Achievement or potential for knowledge transfer, enterprise and similar activity that enhances the student experience or employability
• Holder of appropriate teaching qualification, or commitment to achieving a relevant qualification
• Experience of, or potential for, addressing the needs of international students
Management Administration
• Ability to contribute to School/Departmental management processes
• Ability to assess and organise resources effectively
• Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes.
