R&D Laboratory Manager, International Role, Hannover, EUR80-90k

Stepping into the role of R&D Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for managing all research & development projects for new and existing products. Most of your work will be focused locally in Hannover (Germany) but the company also have R&D sites in the USA and Thailand, so you will get the opportunity to work on projects with R&D experts outside of Europe which will involve travel on an occasional basis (5-10%), allowing you to develop an international profile and to travel to other diverse countries and environments.

The company you will be working for are a specialty chemicals company that manufacture active substances for use in a range of end formulations including Paints & Coatings, Cosmetics, Home & Personal Care, Lubricants, Metalworking Fluids and Plastics, so you will get the opportunity to gain a wide range of applications experience. They are a family owned business owned by a father and son, so they have long-term strategy focused on sustainable organic growth, meaning they are very stable so you can stay with the company for a long time.

Requirements:

• Academic Degree (Masters/PhD) in Organic Chemistry
• Minimum 4 years experience in Research & Development
• Background in the Paints & Coatings industry preferred but not essential
• Proven leadership & people management skills essential
• B2 German required for day-to-day work. A good level of English of advantage.
