This position is part of the 2017 The Schuler Educational Enhancement and Development (SEED) Fund initiatives, ‘Innovation in Teaching’ grants, ‘Resources for Writers’ and ‘Writing, writing everywhere’ events. The ‘Innovation in Teaching’ grant programme aims to sow innovative teaching practices across the University of Auckland and support them with the resources they need to germinate and flourish. The short-term objective of the project is to identify and cultivate small-scale teaching initiatives that might otherwise fail to take root. Its longer-term aim is to propagate an institution-wide culture of educational innovation, experimentation and on-going professional development, thereby lifting the quality of teaching across the University and building stronger communities of practice amongst tertiary teachers.

About us

CLeaR provides research-informed institutional leadership in higher education learning and teaching. Our programmes and activities aim to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and research at the University of Auckland through the promotion of reflective and innovative practice and a scholarly approach to higher education. We partner with faculties, service divisions, and communities of practice to support and inform the strategic priorities of the University through

  • World-class higher education research
  • The scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Research on the academic engagement, progression and success of staff and students, including equity groups
  • Innovation in technology-supported teaching and learning
  • Individual and institutional capacity building in teaching, learning and research

2017 is CLeaR’s year of ‘Writing, writing everywhere’ (WWE). Academic staff from across the University submitted innovative ideas for symposia, workshops, hui or other events that engage with the WWE theme.  Supported by the SEED Fund, this initiative aims to promote writing across and beyond the University of Auckland by encouraging students, academics and other writers to write more confidently, elegantly, passionately, productively, collaboratively… or simply more.

The role

The SEED Project Coordinator will act as an important point of coordination and support for the 2017 SEED project team. The role will manage the logistics, organization, promotion and documentation of SEED events. Please refer to the job description for more details.
