The University of Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a Public Affairs Manager to work within its award-winning Communications and Marketing department.

As Scotland and the wider UK goes through a period of unprecedented change, working closely and productively with public policy makers is now more important than ever. This new position will play a significant role in ensuring that the University engages effectively with its many political stakeholder groups on the contribution that the institution makes and its economic, intellectual and cultural impact.   

Working closely with senior management, the Head of External Affairs and other communications professionals, the post-holder will help to devise and implement strategies which will build engagement among the political communities in the City, Holyrood, Westminster and Europe about the University's work.    

An energetic and dynamic self-starter with experience of carrying out public affairs work in a large and complex organisation, you will have a highly developed understanding of policy making and government at all levels, and will require excellent communications and networking skills.

This is a full-time, permanent post – 35 hours per week. It's envisaged that an appointment will be made at the starting point of the pay scale.
